Grant funds AHOY !!!!

It just burns me up, I swear it does. I will never in my life understand how children with quite large or full grants sit on waiting lists for so long. In this blog I will be highlighting several of those kids who have those grants and still wait for families.

The first is Alyona she has a $20,000. She is 15 years old and will age out in less then a year. She is listed with Project Hopeful and is Hiv+. She has a younger who was adopted and two younger brothers who are still available to be adopted with or without Alyona. She loves her siblings and speaks very fondly of all of them.

If you would like to learn more about this wonderful young lady please visit www.projecthopeful.org

This sweet boy is Preston and he is 7 years old. He at one point had a family that was committed to adopting him and they adoption fell through not because of Preston but because of things that occurred with the family and they were devastated.

Preston currently has over $15,000 just sitting in his grant fund waiting to be used by his future family. Are you Preston's family? Check out his link http://reecesrainbow.org/4127/preston-2h

Little Miss Megan is in the same place as Preston AND can be adopted with him. She has a smile that just lights up the room.

Her grant has over $24,000 just imagine how much she could brighten up your family's life.

Heath....awww what can I say about Heath. This sweet Angel Boy is almost 11 years old and spent every second of those 11 years being raised by caregivers in orphanages and now in an institution. He is in a very poor orphanage and does not receive very good care at all. A mom who adopted a little boy from Heath's is committed to helping him find a family.

He has a FULL...I repeat FULL grant fund. All he needs is his momma and papa to say yes.

Last but not least we have Celine. She has an advocate who has worked tirelessly to make sure that Celine had a grant. Thanks to her Celine has over $28,000 in her grant.

Does her life matter?

Sometimes......
Sometimes there are just no words. No words to describe what you need to do or how you are supposed to feel. Sometimes you have no idea what you are doing. But in the end it is not about YOU. It is about doing all you can to help someone else, even if it seems so so small. This lovely young lady's name is Diana. She is days away from being 16, literally days. I found her photo in the Russian database. She may be listed with an agency or she may not be. She is a lost and lonely soul looking for guidance and encouragement and LOVE. She is only 3 years younger then me and probably been through more in her short time here on this earth then I  could ever experience in many life times. She has been through FEAR, REJECTION, ABANDONMENT, and if we don't step up and do something for her she will have to go through one more sad emotion and experience DISAPPOINTMENT. I cringe to thing of the life she will live if we do not step up and save her. I don't know every little detail of how to make this adoption come together, but I would be more the glad to work with you and figure this out. Please do not leave her alone, broken and abandoned. Please do everything you can to save her, no matter how silly it seems.

You can read a little more about Diana here:

O Baby

So the title may have thrown you off a little, but this is my O baby.

"O" is short for Orson.  He is a beautiful little guy sitting in an orphanage in R*ssia waiting for his
Mama.He is four years old and absolutely stunning. He is of Middle Eastern and Russia heritage. I
am particularly impartial to sweet bronzed babes with dark hair and dark eyes but I mean come on look at that face how could you not be. Anyways back to the point. O baby has been listed on Reece's Rainbow for around 3 years now. His picture has just been sitting there patiently waiting for his mama see his face and make some adoption magic happen. I figure that I would make it a little easier on his mama and try to help his grant get a little higher before she discovers him. As of now his grant has $1,079 in it. My challenge to all of you will be to make his grant read $1,564. Why you as? because when it get to that number, when his grant has $485 more dollars in it I will personally DYE ALL OF MY HAIR PURPLE. Come on just think about it, you know you wanna see it. We have raised $15 so far . I would love to have a story to tell about how all of my orphan junkie friends helped me have a head full of purple hair. In all sincerity every single dollar counts. I know everyone says nothing is to small, and I absolutely mean that. I would be over the moon to see $1 in his grant. I have some big things in the works for this guy and I would love for you all to be a part of it. Please help me get over this first hurdle.

You can donate to O Baby's grant fund through this link

Thank you all so much

Her Life in our hands

Im not really sure how to begin this post, I just know that my heart is hurting and breaking. Today I have seen an updated picture of a little girl that I check in on through RR frequently. Her name is Marla and she is 5 years old.

She is an absolutely beautiful girl and deserves all the love in the world. It is killing me to know that she has gotten so much worse. She obviously not getting very much attention or love or even basic care. I cannot believe that this is what children have to live through day in and day out.She needs her family to get her and to get her right now. She is about to be transferred to an Adult Mental Institution where she will more then likely get much worse (if that is even possible) or die. She needs the kingdom of God to step up for her.To pray for her. To advocate for her. To realize they are her family and pray for her. Please do all you can for Marla. Her life is literally in our hands. Pleas do not let her down.

16 and life

I was at work the other day singing lyrics to myself and my mental radio started playing 18 and life by skid row. It reminded me that kids who are institutions are not sentenced to 18 and life, they are sentenced to 16 and life. SIXTEEN years old and your entire future is decided for you. SIXTEEN years old. What were you doing at 16? Sneaking out, trying to find a date on a Saturday night, bowling with friends, enjoying the fact that it is SUMMER. Do you know what these kids are doing? NOTHING...and I mean NOTHING. They are not talking, or walking, or playing outside. They are sitting in a disgusting and boring room full of other people.. adults even who are rocking back and forth because of the lack of stimulation and LOVE. These are adults who so many years ago were beautiful babes born just a little different. Babies that their society said was unacceptable.

There are a total of 64 waiting on www.reecesrainbow.org that have been listed for years. Just waiting and hoping that their families would find them only to be disappointed day after day.

Children like Jason:

who is in a remote institution. Who is 9 years old. Who has not had an updated photo in almost three years.

Children like Adam:

Who has waited 11 long years for a mama of his own.

Children like Samantha and Kristina who are sisters and more then anything need to be in a loving family TOGETHER:

Children like Bobby:

Who are so gentlemanly and old worldly and kind.

Children like Heath:
Who have been rallied for time and again and who wait and wonder all because people or scared. Scared of the funds. Scared of jumping without a parachute. Scared of the unknowns and what they cant see. Scared to solely rely on God and his grace.

As you look into the eyes of each of these children please do not let fear dictate your life and for that matter do not let your fear dictate their lives. Stare into all of these faces as if you were staring into the face of God. Think not with your head but FEEL your heart.

I NEED HELP...

ATTENTION ALL:
I need help in a BAD way. The lovely Ms. Melissa Price Lorenz agreed to do a scentsy fundraiser where 20 % of the proceeds will go to one boy that I chose out of a list of names that had been nominated for The Forgotten Boys group. The fundraiser has been up for about 3 weeks and so far we have only made 2 sales :(

The proceeds were originally supposed to got to Kody, but during the process he found his forever family so I decided to chose another child out of the nominated names and came up with Jason.

As of now he only has $52 in his grant fund. He is in a remote institution, which means he is basically in the middle of nowhere and not getting the best of care. I would really love to grow his grant fund to at least a $100 if not more. I am  begging, please do not this fundraiser be an utter disaster. Please help me spread the word for this precious boy and pray every night that he finds his forever family. If we don't come together and rally for him then no one will. He has been listed for 2 and a half years that I know of. and has already spent 9 years without the love that he truly deserves.

Thanks for reading....Please feel free to re-post this any and everywhere.
Here is the link if you fell led to help out with the fundraiser:

No hope in 3 months

Say Hello to Stefan.
He is a wonderfully beautiful MIRACLE. The fact that he has made it all by himself for almost 16 years makes his him and his life a miracle. He has suffered through being rejected by his birth parents, taken to an orphanage, taken to an institution, and being passed over for a family for almost 16 years. He has survived without anyone or anything to call his own. Stefan will be a true blessing to whatever family chooses to make him their son. Stefan is only available to be adopted until this September. That is only 3 months away, but I have seen bigger miracles happen in a shorter amount of time. Please pray for Stefan and help him find his forever family.

Because sometimes your just angry.

Tonight I had a mini breakdown over this guy.

                                                              This is Steven.

Steven is 6.

Steven is a blessing straight from our heavenly father.

Unfortunately some people have a hard time receiving blessings

Steven is a brother and a twin.

I have know about Steven for about a year now and have hoped that he would find an amazing family to take him in and still allow him to have contact with his brothers. Maybe they would get to see each other over the summer's and talk to one another often. I hoped they would remain close and one day reunite, but like I said it has been at least a year and he is still waiting.

They wording on his photo listing still bears the same information. It was nothing that I was not used to seeing, but as I re-read the sentences placed under his picture I just felt like I had been hit by a ton of bricks. I  got down right angry. The fact that someone felt he was not worthy enough to be a part of their family infuriated me and made me weep at the same time. I just don't understand. I don't understand peoples logic. I don't understand how it is ok to rip children apart. I don't understand why his worth is not see. I just plain don't understand. I am writing this blog in hopes that someone out there will recognize his true potential and  give him the life he deserves.

SOMEONE PLEASE SAVE THIS BABY.

Twice as Nice

This is Karen. She is 16. When you think of being 16 you think of High School, Football games, slumber parties with your friends, and flirting with cute boys. This has not been Karen's experience as a teenage. Her life for the last 7 years has been being seperated from her little sister and thrown into an orphanage. All of a sudden your life doesnt seem so bad Huh??? This sweet young lady has had so many people praying for her and trying to find her a family. This has yet to work out (Maybe that is because YOU, yes YOU are meant to be her family.)

Karen has a younger sister named Chrystyna who is 10 years old. She was recently transferred out of a mental institution and into a school which is a bigger blessing then I could ever put into words. Chrystyna is suspected to have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, but nothing is confirmed at this time. She may just be delayed from the time she spent in an orphanage.

Since Karen is already 16 the only way that she can be adopted is if her sister is adopted with her as well. These girls have been through so much already it would absolutely WONDERFUL to see them re-united once again in a loving home.

I know many people are scared of adopting older kids but the truth is they are in need of much more guidance and love then you would ever expect. I am 19 years old and knowing that I have my mom to catch me if I fall gives me an incredible peace of mind. Won't you be that Peace for Karen?

They JOY of JAKE

Usually I would sit and write a blog. I would pour my heart into it and try to show you how I feel about a particular situation and I would try to give a child a voice. This blog is different. I am going to let you read JACOB'S words. This is what HE thinks and feels. This is his voice telling his story, so please listen up.

                             http://www.adoptuskids.org/_app/child/viewp.aspx?id=24997

"Dear Family,

My name is Jacob, but I go by Jake. I am 17 years old. My dream is to find a family before I turn 18. Other teenagers might wonder why I would want a mom and dad at this age, or they just complain about their parents, but I think I will get further in life with parents. Teenagers should tough it out and listen to their parents because it’s the right thing to do.

I hope to have a family that will call me and that I could still visit even after I leave home as an adult. I want to spend holidays together. I want parents who will show me what it means to be a family and will help me to know when it is right to have a family of my own one day. I want parents to help me know the right time and right person to marry. I want a model for what a family should be like. I want to learn how to drive, and I love to cook. I want a family to teach me about these things.

I sometimes want to do my own thing, but I remember one of my foster parents who would tell me to do the right things and keep me safe. I hope that a family will do the same for me. I have been through a lot of tough things in my life, and have learned to tough it out.

I am not too old to be adopted. I am just like every one of you who needs the support of parents as I head into the adult world."

Let's spread Jacob's story and make his dream come true.

Before it's too late

Last night I was made aware of the fact that there were several children who still needed families to host them for the summer. I wrote about them Here. Unfortunately not all of them were able to find their families. These are a different set of kids who need the same thing. They need to be "hosted" which means that they come to America and you make them part of your family for 5 weeks. These kids have until Monday to find "host families."  It will cost $2900 per child unless they are in a sibling group in which case it will cost $2,800 per child. I know that it may seem like a lot but all of these kids have financial scholarships to help cut the cost. These kids are available for adoption, but that is nota requirement  if you decide to get involved in this program.
