A Mama for Malcolm :)

This little guy as you probably already know is Malcolm. He is almost 5 years old and lives in R*ssia (region 15 for all of you RR lovers.) Malcolm has spastic displegic Cerebral Palsy. Here in the U.S. that seems like not such a big deal, you think ok maybe some physical therapy, occupational therapy, hard work, and poof he is out there living his life just like everybody else. Seems easy enough huh? NOT so much.

Where Malcolm is he does not have those opportunities. His only future is a world inside of an adult mental institution. Yep, you read that right an ADULT MENTAL INSTITUTION! There he will spend the rest of his life not knowing life outside of the four walls of his room. A room where he will be warehoused with 15 maybe 20 other kids with nothing to do besides listening to the moans of the other boys and men who were given the same doomed fate as him. A room where no one will play with him or speak to him softly. A room where no one will come to him when he cries. Does that seem like the kind of live that a 5 year old little boy should have?

.

This is updated information on Malcolm From a missionary who knows him: Malcolm needs family badly. He is very emotional, sensitive and not a leader by nature and is being hurt by older and physically healthy children in the orphanage. He can hardly walk but retains sensitivity in the feet. There is a chance only in the presence of caring and loving parents Malcolm can walk independently in a future but in the orphanage environment the child is afraid of everything even walking. Malcolm has a favorite little toy: stuffed tiger, he carries it everywhere, he kisses it, puts to sleep, worries about it. Malcolm is interested in all new, he knows the names and colors, understands commands, has attachments to friends in a group, he goes on contact easily and is pleased to dialogue.

He can stand and move his knees but he cannot currently walk. He can form healthy attachments with his friends in his group and is happy to have dialogue with other people. You are truly Malcolm’s only HOPE. He is scheduled to be transferred to a mental institution aka hell on earth THIS APRIL. Someone, I beg you please find it in your heart to save Malcolm. God will take care of the rest of the details. Additionally Malcolm has a $7114.22 grant available toward his adoption.

Malcolm may not be in Serbia, but he faces the same future:
